Microsoft No Longer Supporting Windows NT Workstation Microsoft has officially announced the end of extended support for Windows NT Workstation. This means they will no longer release service packs, hot fixes, or security patches for this version of Windows. Singular Networks will continue to support our clients running Windows NT Workstation. However, because of the lack of security patches, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 2000 or Windows XP, especially if your computer is connected to the Internet. You can learn more about Microsoft's decision at: http://news.com.com/2100-1016-1021428.html . Word's AutoCorrect Features If you do a lot of typing, or if you type exceptionally fast, you've probably noticed Microsoft Word's many quirks, especially as it tries to correct errors for you as you type. If you'd like to find out exactly what Word is up to, go to your Word menu and select "Tools" -> "AutoCorrect". Here you will find Word's AutoCorrect options, as well as an editable list of commonly misspelled words that Word automatically corrects as you type. Of particular interest to fast typists are the "Correct TWo INitial CApitals" and "Correct accidental usage of cAPS LOCK key" options. If you've been experiencing problems, you might want to experiment with these options set on and off. You can learn more about Word's AutoCorrect features at: http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/2000/WAutoFe.aspx . Organizing Your Start Menu Has your Start menu gotten disorganized after installing new software? Unlike previous versions, which kept everything in alphabetical order, newer Windows versions add new shortcuts and group folders to the end of the Start menu. To re-sort the items in the Start menu, just right click on the programs list in the Start menu and select "Sort by Name". You can also move items around the Start menu by dragging and dropping them to the desired location. It's that easy! If you missed it, be sure to check out our previous issue .
